What is the actual sound reduction?
Attenuation tested up to -32dB in an acoustic laboratory. This is equivalent to transforming the noise of a nearby passing train (90dB) into a whisper (60dB) — enough to sleep deeply without hearing snoring or traffic.
Are they comfortable enough for sleeping all night?
Yes. The ultra-soft medical silicone and ergonomic shape allow for prolonged use without discomfort. Many of our customers even forget they're wearing them. 3 sizes (S/M/L) are provided to fit all body types.
How long do the traffic jams last?
Reusable for up to 12 months with regular maintenance (washing in warm, soapy water). Very economical in the long term compared to disposable sponges that need to be changed every day.
Can I hear the alarm or the doorbell?
Yes. Akin Acoustic earplugs attenuate unwanted noises (traffic, snoring) while allowing important sounds such as an alarm clock, fire alarm, or doorbell to pass through. They do not create total isolation.
How do I clean my earplugs?
Very simple: rinse them with lukewarm water and a little mild soap after each use. Air dry then store in the aluminum case provided. Avoid alcohol and aggressive products that damage the silicone.
Are they suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The silicone is medical-grade, BPA-free, latex-free, and hypoallergenic. Suitable for the most sensitive skin and for people allergic to traditional foam.
